AntiGravity® Aerial Fitness are the originators of Aerial Yoga and are now in its 30th year.  Adelaide Pilates Studio is the host location for all South Australian training events.

AntiGravity® Aerial Fitness is a three-day teacher training course of fundamentals tuition, that explores exercise movement in a silk hammock suspended from the ceiling. Our AntiGravity® Hammock is designed to support and nurture the body through various movements in space.

It allows us to work against gravity whilst we are suspended and supported in the hammock to enable us to get deeper into stretches, while decompressing and lengthening the spine as we practice inversions, which are unique to this experience. These movements also help to relax the muscles, open the hips and upper back, while moving and releasing tension through the body and calming the mind with each breath.

Perfect for fitness coaches, Pilates Instructors, Personal Trainers and health professionals, and will take your expertise to a whole new level. You will learn postural assessment client pathologies and all AntiGravity® poses and sequences in a safe and nurturing environment.

This three-day fundamentals course includes the full Digital Academy Library of exercises and poses to help you practice plus manuals that will create the perfect learning experience as we practice the movements and break down the concepts, to help prepare you for the classroom experience. Training will also include practical assessments and apprentice teaching hours.

On completion graduates will be mentored during the apprenticeship to enable you to teach a number of classes under the mentorship of your Master Trainer upon completion of the qualification.

There are eight programs of AntiGravity® movement that you can further explore once you have completed and passed the Fundamental training and assessment progress. These include Aerial Yoga 1&2, Aerial Restorative, AirBarre, Aerial Fitness, Aerial Suspension Strength, Kids Aerial Yoga and Aerial Pilates.

You will be mentored and coached throughout your training and afterwards as you enter the classroom to teach your clients.

You will also learn:

  • AntiGravity® history and its inventor Christopher Harrison
  • Technique principles of each exercise
  • Pronunciation and breakdown of each move
  • Cueing and sequences of each program
  • Equipment set up and safety
  • Meditation and breathing techniques
